TWO LARGER-THAN-LIFE PORTRAITS OF ELLEN DEGENERES AND OPRAH WINFREY COMPLETELY MADE OF ROASTED COLOMBIAN COFFEE BEANS.
Coffee is one of the most important things in Colombia—and I made Oprah & Ellen of coffee beans
Mateo Blanco just his revealed his latest pieces of TV stars:
Two larger-than-life portraits of Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey completely made of roasted Colombian coffee beans.
Blanco, who originally lived in Colombia, explains his strangely chosen medium in his interview “Coffee is one of the most important things in Colombia—and I made Oprah & Ellen of coffee beans.” He added that both Ellen and Oprah drink coffee on their TV shows.
In total, it took thousands of hours and thousands of beans for Mateo to make the art.
- Ellen: 8,000 Colombian coffee beans
- Oprah: 9,000 Colombian coffee beans
It’s Mateo’s dream for Ellen to see his art and to feature on her show! And we’re trying to help him and you should too: Click here and help us by tweeting Ellen the art.
In the mean time he’s working on another coffee portrait, Elsa from the Movie Frozen!
